Klang Systematiek: Christian Marclay / Giuseppe Chiari
Klang Systematiek is a European contemporary music ensemble based in Prague, bringing together musicians whose backgrounds extend across contemporary classical music, improvisation, electronic music, experimental performance and other forms of sonic practice. Rather than defining itself through a single musical language, the ensemble is interested in what happens when different traditions, generations and approaches to sound are brought into the same space.
On 11 November 2026, a reduced ensemble of Klang Systematiek will travel to Stockholm to perform at Fylkingen, presenting a program centred on the work of Christian Marclay and Giuseppe Chiari.
The ensemble for this project consists of Gareth Davis (bass clarinet), Robin Rimbaud / Scanner (electronics), Ivo Nilsson (trombone) and Stefan Winter (objects and sounds). The four musicians represent very different musical histories and practices, yet all have longstanding experience working outside the boundaries of conventional concert performance.
The programme brings together Giuseppe Chiari's La Strada with Christian Marclay's Screenplay, Graffiti Composition and Shuffle. Although the works come from different generations and contexts, they share an interest in questioning what a musical work can be, how it can be performed, and where music might begin and end.
