Visioner av Nuet 1966-2026 Saturday @ Tekniska museet

In connection with the 60th anniversary of festival Visioner av nuet, Fylkingen, Elektronmusikstudion and The National Museum of Science and Technology in Stockholm present a two-day festival spanning panels, film screenings and concerts ranging from the legacy of the 1966 festival to contemporary artistic explorations of the relations between art and technology.

Visioner av nuet was initiated by Fylkingen's chairman Knut Wiggen and held at the then Teknorama/National Museum of Science and Technology in 1966. Here, artists, researchers, and engineers gathered around questions about computers, electronic music, new media, and the role of technology in art and society.

In the afternoon, we return to the material from the 1960s. Fylkingen Bulletin, archival films, computer-generated images, and visualizations of early Swedish computers showcase a time when algorithms and computer technology began to become artistic tools. Among others, we encounter BESK, TRASK, and DATASAAB D21, along with historical computer sounds from the museum's collections.

In the dome, restored films from [Filmform](https://www.filmform.com/) from the experimental art and sound environment surrounding Visions of the Present are also shown. One of the works, Åke Karlung's Dr. Verwoerd's Arrival in Inferno, was part of the 1966 festival.

At the same time, history is set in motion through shorter presentations and discussions about what Visioner av nuet was, the ideas that drove the meeting between art and technology, and still has relevance today.

Edy Fung's works You’ve taken on a big subject and Fahlström and Rauschenberg want to float, suspended in air, are displayed in Trähallen throughout the day.
